This orchid, somewhat similar to a Zygopetalum, is part of a genus with only three known species. Its solitary flowers appear at the base of the pseudobulbs, with 5 to 8 cm in size, with unusual colors and shapes in the Orchidaceae family.
Natural habitat: Originally from the Andes (Ecuador and Peru), where it develops between 700 and 1500 meters, as an epiphyte plant.
Cultivation: Substrate for epiphytes, with good aeration and good drainage capacity. It enjoys a good degree of air humidity and intermediate to hot temperatures. In the period of vegetative development, it needs regular watering and fertilization.
